Upgrade VPC image to Hyper-V

Steps to migrate

In Virtual PC

· Turn on Image

· Uninstall Virtual Machine additions

· Turn off Image

In Hyper-V

· Register Image as HyperV Image

· Add a legacy network adapter (to connect out to the internet)

· Start image

· Install Service Pack 2 – reboot

· Connect to Windows Update get the latest patches

· Add the Hyper V Integration additions – reboot

o This will require files from the Windows 2003 CD

o And it will kill your mouse temporarily – recommend remote desktop for this part

· To Activate Windows

o Copy the c:\windows\system32\MOSOOBE dir from a good Win 2003 install, in the All Up BI VPC, its deleted.

o Activate windows (go to My computer – help – is this copy legal)

· Reboot and your set!
